Brainstorming for a domain name four years ago when we moved our little family to New Hampshire to live ‘the green dream’, I was newly infatuated with knitting, had just discovered knitty.com and wanted something snappy to make a personalized email address.

Knit + Geek = Kneek

performance_art.jpg

If this were a newspaper, the caption for this photo would read:
“Obsessed knitter volunteers to sit in concrete library stairwell knitting paper for two hours while perplexed onlookers try unsuccessfully to engage the impassive woman in conversation.” Performance art. Knitting for two hours in a rocking chair, wearing a warm cloak. Who cares if I’m knitting paper? I’m knitting, and no one is bothering me. Enough said.

I’m no longer just a knitgeek, hence the name change. If you came here looking for Kneek, you’ve found the right blog, I’ve just decided to change the name.

You can see the original family website here, with pictures of Lance’s family home in New Hampshire, Sophie and Owen when they were much younger and an archive of our crafts during the early years.

    Dear Leah,

I was not quite sure how to contact you the quickest but maybe this way will work. I saw this reference:

Etsy :: Alchemy – Viewing – Ronel Jordaan Felted Wool Stone Cushions
    18 hours ago
Requesting fiber artist to make felted cushions to depict stones in a real-life quality. Looking for ottoman sizes, couch cushions, etc. Please refer to Ronel Jordaan’s website, VivaTerra, or blogs about the exquisite, realistic quality …
    Etsy.com – Alchemy Listings – http://www.etsy.com/alchemy/

and I thought that you might like to follow it up??

I am living and working in the UK and therefore I did not think the notice relevant. (To send STONES across an ocean!!) And MAYBE it is a prank?? The price seams too good to be true.

If it should be real, I hope that you can make use of it. I have now followed your blog for a while, and goggled at your etsy shop with admiration and learned new techniques from your tutorials: so thank you for oodles of visual and practical pleasure!!!

    Yours Viv

I’m trying to purchase your flower tutorial pdf via ETSY,however, what comes up is “Felt Flower Kit”. I don’t need the kit, just the tutorial. Is this possible to purchase? Thanx! Charisse
